Stoga JV loses tight contest with Ridley

The Conestoga JV fell in a hard fought game to Ridley, 51-47. The first quarter was competitive and evenly played by both sides. Stoga got strong inside play from Ronan Mayok and Thomas McGovern, and some sharp shooting by Scott Martin left them ahead, 14-12 after one.

At the start of the second quarter, Conestoga came out strong, capitalizing on a rash of turnovers by Ridley. Ridley then went on a 6-0 run to tie it at 18. After some up and down play by each team, it was Ridley 23-22 at the half.
The complexion of the game changed in the third quarter when Ridley solved Stoga’s 1- 3-1 defense with some easy baskets, but contributions from Evan Medley and Shane Scott kept it close, making it 32-31 Ridley at the end of three. Stoga struggled to rebound and make free throws in the fourth quarter and some big 3’s for Ridley led to a final score of 51-47. Next up Lower Merion away on Tuesday.
