Conestoga pulls away from Lower Merion, advances to quarters

Central League Semifinals: Harrar leads Strath Haven over Conestoga

With dominant big man John Harrar marauding in the paint, and the Panthers eager to settle a score from last season, Strath Haven took it to the title favorites. Varsity out guns Garnet Valley 71-58 to capture CL regular season title

Conestoga jumped out to a quick start in Friday’s regular season finale against a Garnet Valley squad fighting for a playoff spot. Stoga raced to a 25-9 first quarter lead behind the continued sharp shooting of senior co-captains’ Charlie Martin and Scott Shapiro and Angus Mayock with 10, 7, and 6 pts apiece. Charlie swished a no-look 3 as time expired in the quarter much to the delight of the Stoga fans. JV hits more valleys than peaks in final game

Garnet Valley got off to a quick 5-0 run at the start of the game before Wesley Brace and Myles Scott responded with a basket each, and the Jaguars led 9-6 after one. Brooks Rush had a big second quarter for the Pioneers with six points and Scott Martin hit a pair of threes, but GV led 24-22 at the half. Senior Night 2017!

Conestoga basketball celebrated senior night prior to their game against Haverford on February 7, 2017. Seniors Angus Mayock, Charlie Martin, Scott Shapiro, Scott Lambert, Blaize Milanek, Will Marshall, Michael Dutot, and manager Kyle Chamonvitz were each recognized along with their family members in a pre-game ceremony. Varsity roars past visiting Haverford on Senior Night 65-50

After a slow start, Conestoga roared past the visiting Haverford Fords 65-50 in an important Central League matchup on SENIOR NIGHT!  7 Conestoga Pioneer Seniors were honored before the game and were later recognized by Coach Troy.  This Senior Class of 2017 could go down as the 4-year class with the most wins in Conestoga High School history.    After the ceremony, the ball game started and Haverford had upset on their minds.
