The Pioneers came out swinging in the first quarter, but ultimately fell to Lower Merion 42-48. The Aces JV showed up with a mature 16-member squad and a sharp shooter who couldn’t be stopped.
In the first half DeShetler drove and drew several fouls, while Emory and Piccone showed smart offensive execution. Barczak ended the first half on a good note with a buzzer beating 3-point shot.
Stoga was down by seven coming into the second half. McGovern came out strong with a quick basket. The momentum continued and the offense’s “Hawk” finally took off. Full-time point guard DiMarino kept the ball moving and sunk an impressive “off-script” 3-point shot.  Mayock and Smith played aggressive defense as the team tried to battle back.
It was a good effort comeback, but too little too late (and too many turnovers and missed foul shots).
