Varsity outlasts Haverford in OT 62-55 to stay in playoff hunt

With the temperature dropping to single digits outside both teams got off to a slow start in this key Central League match up. Stoga was able to hold a 14-11 lead after one thanks to 2 Shane Scott three’s and some hard earned points in the paint. Varsity pulls out big Central League win over Garnet Valley 58-54

With the game on the line, Conestoga’s Zach Lezanic stepped up to the line for a 1 and 1. He calmly sank both free throws to put the Pioneers ahead by 3. Garnet Valley was unable to convert on a three-pointer to tie and Conestoga pulled out the hard fought road win 58-54. Last second shot by Shane Scott leads Varsity to 44-41 victory over Marple Newtown

With the score tied at 41-41, Conestoga was using a three-man weave to run the clock down and as it got below 10 seconds, Zach Lezanic drove into the lane and made a great kick out pass to Shane Scott positioned outside the arc on the baseline. Varsity posts fine offensive effort in 77-60 win over Harriton

The slightly earlier start time to Saturday’s game resulting from possible inclement weather may have led to a sluggish start by Conestoga. But paced by Milton Robinson’s 3 makes from three-point range, Stoga jumped out to a 19-14 lead. Behind a smaller sized, pajama-clad, enthusiastic PIT, Varsity used some aggressive, trapping defense led by Evan Medley to stake a 38-25 lead at the half. Varsity cruises past Springfield 64-29

On a rare Thursday night game in the Central League, Stoga jumped all over a very young and winless Springfield squad in route to a 20-5 first quarter lead. Excellent defense and some hot 3 point shooting from Milton Robinson helped them push the lead to 20 points by half. The second half saw the entire squad getting some playing time and getting into the scorebook as the Pioneers made easy work of Springfield and cruised to the easy 64-29 victory. Varsity upsets previously unbeaten Central League foe Penncrest 51-47

It was the tale of 2 quarters for the Pioneers as they managed to overcome an 11 point deficit and dominate the 2nd and 4th quarters to come away with a hard fought victory. Another slow start hurt Conestoga as they found themselves behind 17-6 after one. Varsity fights back in 4th quarter but comes up short against St. Elizabeth's (DE)

Conestoga travelled down to Wilmington DE for a Saturday afternoon game against St. Elizabeth’s. Stoga came out hot early in the first against the reigning DE State Champs and held a 12-2 lead on the back of multiple Shane Scott 3 pointers. But the momentum shifted and some sloppy play led to some easy baskets for the Vikings and they went on a run and closed the quarter with a 22-14 lead. JV continues win streak with 55-25 victory over Radnor

Stoga came ready play and never let up in an effort to prove to Coach Focine his beard was truly lucky. Strong defense and foul shooting lead Varsity to tough road win over Radnor

Stoga traveled across town to meet up with neighboring Radnor in a key Central League tilt on Friday night. The fans got their money’s worth after Stoga held off a late run run by Radnor to post a 61-56 victory. It was a tight first quarter with Stoga having trouble getting shots to fall but some late steals leading to transition baskets left them down by 12-13 after one.
