Varsity fights back in 4th quarter but comes up short against St. Elizabeth's (DE)

Conestoga travelled down to Wilmington DE for a Saturday afternoon game against St. Elizabeth’s. Stoga came out hot early in the first against the reigning DE State Champs and held a 12-2 lead on the back of multiple Shane Scott 3 pointers. But the momentum shifted and some sloppy play led to some easy baskets for the Vikings and they went on a run and closed the quarter with a 22-14 lead.
The 2nd quarter was even but Stoga could not close the gap as our shooting went cold. St. Elizabeth went into the half leading 31-22.
Conestoga came out with some strong defense in the 2nd half but could not overcome some questionable calls and lost by a very narrow margin of 52-50. Leading scorers for Stoga were Zach Lezanic (18), Shane Scott (12), Milton Robinson (9), and Evan Medley (9).
Conestoga is back in action on Tuesday night in a key Central League tilt against Penncrest.
