Last second shot by Shane Scott leads Varsity to 44-41 victory over Marple Newtown

With the score tied at 41-41, Conestoga was using a three-man weave to run the clock down and as it got below 10 seconds, Zach Lezanic drove into the lane and made a great kick out pass to Shane Scott positioned outside the arc on the baseline. Shane calmly set his feet and swished the game-winning 3 pointer as time expired to give Stoga the scappy 44-41 victory.
Conestoga raced out to an early lead but Marple kept answering back with some hot shooting beyond the arc and we finished the quarter up 12-9. But early foul trouble and a short bench due to illness and injury let Marple right back into the game as they pulled ahead at the half: 25-21.
Conestoga game out with energy in the 3rd quarter behind the offense of Zach and Milton. Scott Martin hit a late 3 pt shot to settle the team down and helped them to a 37-33 lead heading into the final frame.
Unfortunately Stoga couldn’t pull away in the quarter and some timely baskets by Marple had the game knotted at 41. But Conestoga was patient for the final minute and got the shot they wanted to get the win.
Leading the way were: Zach (17 pts), Milton (9 pts), Shane (7 pts), Wes (6 pts and 9 boards), Scott (5 pts).
Stoga is back in action on Friday as they travel to Garnet Valley for a key Central League match-up!
