Conestoga gutted out a Victory

Playing for the second time in 17 hours, Conestoga gutted its way to a 46-38 victory over Great Valley, pushing its winning streak to seven games.
Once again Ben Robinson came off the bench to lead the Pioneers just as he did the night before against Haverford.
Still working his way back from a serious knee injury, the 6’2” senior finished with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists, including a clutch 3-point basket in the final two minutes to secure the win.
Junior Cory Hogan delivered another strong performance with 8 points and a career-best 13 rebounds. Sam Gibbs took two charges and contributed 8 points.
Shane O’Brien added 6 points and 4 rebounds while Rowan Miller had 5 points and 5 assists for the Pioneers, who improved to 9-1 with the non-league win.
Sunny Tummala also had 5 points for the winners.
“Playing with a turnaround like that is never easy, especially since Great Valley is good,” said coach Sean Forcine. “They put us to the test, but it’s the little things that won the game for us. Gibbs took a charge and O’Brien’s offensive rebound was huge. Those little things tend to make the difference in close games. I’m really proud of our attitude when we weren’t hitting our shots.”
The Pioneers will next take the court Jan. 7 at Radnor in Central League action.
