Conestoga entered the 2024-25 season with no one over 6-4 on its roster. The Pioneers were a team in the true sense of the word as each member did their part to help the team succeed.
This season, Sean Forcine led the Pioneers to a 22-7 record and their first District 1 6A championship since 1987. Conestoga also advanced to the second round of the PIAA 6A playoffs and won its first state game since 2009. It took a committed, steady and to guide the Pioneers to these lofty heights.
It was Forcine who drove his underrated squad to the heights of District 1 basketball. It is for these accomplishments that Forcine is the Daily Local News Boys Basketball Coach of the Year.
The Pioneers achieved these goals with only two seniors on their starting five. They were a major force in the district all season. Forcine is a talented leader whose team played with their coach’s grit and determination all season.
