Looking to get back on track

Facing its first two-game skid of the season, Conestoga will look to get back on track Tuesday, Jan. 14 when the Pioneers host Central League foe Harriton.

The Pioneers are 10-3 overall and 6-2 in the league.

Springfield took advantage of a lackluster shooting night by the visitors to claim a 59-47 victory on Jan. 10.

Coach Sean Forcine put the emphasis on accountability. “Our program prides itself on defense and intensity. We strive to do the little things like getting loose balls and rebounds.

“When you can’t bring the same level of effort as your opponent, it’s tough to win. It’s especially true when you’re not putting the ball in the hoop consistently. So we’ve gotta go back to our foundation in terms of energy level and focus.”

Only five players scored for Conestoga, but three of them reached double figures. Senior Ben Robinson scored 16 points to go with 6 rebounds, 3 assists and took a charge, while junior Rowan Miller had 16 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds.

Junior Cory Hogan’s totals were 10 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.

Sam Gibbs pulled down 6 rebounds, made 3 assists and took a charge.
