Stoga Holds Lead to Final Whistle

Conestoga started the new month the same way it ended January, knocking off a Central League rival to improve their standing for the playoffs.

In their final home game of the regular season, the Pioneers improved to 11-4 in the conference and 16-5 overall with a 41-33 conquest of Garnet Valley. Only a Feb. 5 matchup at Haverford remains.

The latest Stoga victory was a total team effort. Shane O’Brien led the Point parade with 12 (four threes) followed by Rowan Miller’s 10. Ben Robinson and Cory Hogan contributed 8 each.

Hogan had 6 rebounds while Miller, Robinson and O’Brien pulled down 4 each. Miller and Robinson also made 3 assists and 2 steals apiece.

Forcine shared “Garnet always gives us a great matchup. Sniras and Golek were hitting their shots, but I give a lot of credit to our guys handling the ball and controlling the glass. That’s what it takes to win against a tough league opponent, like Garnet.”
