Pioneers dropped a 65-49 decision at Bensalem High School in the district playoffs

The season didn’t end the way Conestoga’s boys basketball team had hoped. Playing without sophomore guard Rowan Miller, the short-handed Pioneers dropped a 65-49 decision at Bensalem High School in the district playoffs Feb. 23rd, the flu sidelined Miller.

Really tough loss for our guys,” said coach Sean Forcine. “Obviously, not what we wanted, but we battled and hustled and put our bodies on the line. We can all walk out of here with our heads held high.”

Westin Fryberger and Sam Gibbs gave heroic efforts with 18 and 16 points, respectively. Fryberger also pulled down 8 rebounds and made two assists. Gibbs grabbed 4 rebounds. Other contributors were Cory Hogan (5 points and 2 rebounds), Brandan Styer (2 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals), Ben Robinson (2 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals), and Shane O’Brien (3 points and 2 rebounds).  Scott LeComte and Landon Ross rounded out the scoring with 3 and 2 points.

“The leadership of our seniors was awesome,” added Forcine “It was a really tight group and that’s what I’m really proud of.”
