The Conestoga Boys and Girls basketball teams today hosted a clinic for over 30 athletes from the All Ability Foundation of Greater Philadelphia in partnership with the Saint Monica’s (Berwyn, PA) CYO program. Boys’ Varsity Coach Mike Troy, Boys’ JV Coach Sean Forcine, and Boys’ JV Assistant Coach Bryce Manning led the clinic as the ‘Stoga players served as counselors teaching the participants several dribbling, shooting, and passing techniques. The Conestoga Boys Varsity Basketball Team concluded its 2019-2020 season on Friday, February 14, in a difficult loss to Downingtown East in the first round of the District 1 playoffs in the final seconds. The game was played in a packed Conestoga gym with hundreds of fans cheering on the Pioneers. Downingtown East led during the first three quarters but then Conestoga went on a 15-8 run in the fourth to take the lead as its tenacious defense forced six turnovers. The Conestoga Boys Varsity Basketball team won a thriller against Upper Darby at home on Friday, February 7, pulling out the win in the final seconds. The team played outstanding defense and was solid from the free throw line in the stretch, leading them to a 51-48 victory. Next Up: Downingtown East in a District 1 Playoff game at Conestoga High School on Friday, February 14. Tipoff is at 7 PM.
The Conestoga Boys Varsity Basketball Team traveled to Ridley today to face the Green Raiders in an evening contest and pulled out a solid win, 66-51. The Pioneers’ excellent defense and strong perimeter shooting contributed to the solid road win. The victory comes on the heels of a last-second loss to Haverford High at home, 38-36. Next up: Lower Merion at Bryant Gym on Feb. 4 at 7 PM.
The Conestoga Boys Varsity Basketball team, cheerleaders, students, and fans held a 33-second moment of silence this evening prior to their home game vs. Haverford High in memory of Lower Merion High School superstar Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven others who tragically perished on January 26, 2020. Kobe Bryant wore #33 during his playing career at Lower Merion and competed against Conestoga multiple times in Central League play.
The Conestoga Boys Varsity Basketball Team is in a roll, winning six of its past seven games. The team’s 5 game winning streak was snapped on Jan. 24 in a heartbreaking 59-53 overtime loss to Garnet Valley at home. The Pioneers bounced back the next day on Jan. 24 with a 47-44 overtime win at Oxford High School. Well done boys! Next up: Haverford at home on Jan. 28. Let’s do this!!!!

The Conestoga Boys Varsity Basketball Team continued their winning streak, extending it to four games with the defeat of Springfield High today 59-36 at Conestoga. The solid victory comes on the heels of an an overtime thrilling win at Penncrest, a defeat of Radnor at home, and a win over Strath Haven on their court. The Conestoga varsity boys basketball team ended 2019 with a trip to San Diego, California, December 26-30, to compete in the annual Surf & Slam Tournament. The highly competitive bracket featured teams across the United States with Conestoga finishing 2-1 in the tournament and placing 4th overall. In their first contest, the Pioneers fell To Kings Way, WA, 59-56 in a very tight game. The boys rebounded from that loss and swept its next two opponents — Encinal, CA, 47-34 and University City, CA, 54-29, resulting in a solid 4th place overall in the tournament.
Former Varsity player Todd Monastero joined the Varsity team to support “Beat down Blood Cancer” at our final home game against Lower Merion on Tues. Feb 5, 2019. It was a very special evening during which Todd sang the National Anthem. Sadly, Todd lost his courageous battle with cancer and past away a few months later. His incredible ‘Stoga spirit lives on and he is greatly missed.
