It’s on to the semifinals of the Central League tournament for Conestoga, which disposed of a game Harriton squad, 47-37, on Feb. 8th at the PIT.
Thanks to a balanced scoring attack, the Pioneers were able to pull away in the fourth quarter. They will travel to Radnor on Saturday (Feb. 10) at 4 PM with the winner advancing to the championship game.
Westin Fryberger led the charge against Harriton with 15 points and 13 rebounds, but he got plenty of support from a trio of teammates. Rowan Miller had 10 points and 3 assists, Ben Robinson chipped in with 8 points, 3 assists and 2 steals, while Brendan Styer collected 7 points, 3 assists and 2 steals. The Pioneers also got a big lift from sophomore sharp-shooter Shane O’Brien, who drained a crucial 3-pointer after the Rams had closed the gap in the second half.
“Harriton was able to pound the ball inside in the first half,” said coach SeanĀ Forcine. “I was proud that our defense was able to seal it up in the second half. A lot of credit goes to the poise of our guards in taking care of the ball to close out the game.”
