Varsity gets important District win over Pennwood in final home game

Conestoga Boys Varsity team returned home one last time in an important District 1 playoff game with the winner to play for the 5th or 6th seed from District 1 in the State Championships.  And once again the boys put on a show, electrifying the crowd and coming away with a 62-51 win over a very athletic Pennwood High School team. Varsity falls to Plymouth Whitemarsh in 6A quarterfinals

In a District 1 Quarter-final playoff game, Plymouth Whitemarsh held Conestoga to its lowest scoring game of the season and left their home gym with a 29-44 victory.  Led by a 7-foot sophomore who had at least a dozen blocks inside the paint, and some athletic guards taking away Stoga’s dependable three-point shot, the Pioneers were left with no answers.  Senior Captain Angus Mayock gutted out a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds on the night.   Stoga will now play couple more games to decide their seed in the State Championships.

Varsity secures spot in states with big 77-57 win over Lower Merion

Conestoga boys varsity basketball team put on another show at home for the fans at Conestoga High School.   In a pivotal District 1 playoff game, where the winner not only advanced to the District quarter-finals, but also secured a spot in the State Championship playoffs, and playing arch rival Lower Merion for the third time this year (a Stoga OT win at L.M. and an Aces 2-point win at CHS), this game set up to be an instant classic.   Everyone in the gym was anticipating another close game, possibly down to the last possession, but the Stoga team had other ideas.  The Read more…

Conestoga falls to North Penn in District 1 6A 5th place game

Conestoga traveled to North Penn HS on Friday night to determine final seeding for the state tournament. Despite a hard fought effort, Conestoga was unable to overcome the size and strength of North Penn and suffered a 64-53 defeat. Read Mike Cabrey’s account of the game on

District 1 6A: Conestoga handles Lower Merion, advances to state playoffs

Central League Semifinals: Harrar leads Strath Haven over Conestoga
