JV comes up short 43-47 to Upper Darby in 1st game of 2017

Scott Martin scored the first seven points for the Conestoga JV team in a back and forth contest with Upper Darby. The first quarter ended with a buzzer beater two by Truth Ingram to end the period with a one point advantage for Stoga, 9-8.
Conestoga started the second quarter well, going on a 7-2 run that featured strong rebounding from Wesley Brace, a bucket from Myles Scott, and nice defensive play from Gautam Rao. However, Upper Darby answered with a 12-4 run of their own and led 20-18 at the half.
The Royals went to the four corners in the third quarter and scored opportunistically. Other than a bucket from Ronan Mayock and a steal and score by Shane Scott the Pioneers struggled on offense and trailed 23-35 at the end of three.
The momentum changed at the start of the fourth quarter as Conestoga pressed and went on a 12-2 run, including a strong and one play from Brooks Rush, but it was not enough for the Pioneers, who came up short 43-47.
