The JV home opener against Neshaminy began with a 6-0 run by Stoga. Scott Martin scored on a couple of drives to the hoop, and Evan Medley got a nice feed from Ronan Mayock. Evan also had a buzzer beater running Stoga’s lead to 16-4 after one.
The second quarter saw Connor Steele hit a 3 on a nice kickout from Thomas McGovern, but Neshaminy responded with an 8-0 run. Connor then banked in a 3, and Wes Brace ripped down several rebounds on both ends of the court. It was 27-19 at the half.
The third quarter was marked by nice ball movement by Stoga, with multiple players making shots including a 3 from Shane Scott, and Scott Martin hitting a buzzer beater to create a 40-25 advantage for Stoga.
Things got interesting in the fourth quarter as Neshaminy’s press began to pay dividends, but some late substitutions and Scott Martin’s free throw shooting at the end carried Stoga to a 49-39 victory.
