Conestoga Defeated by Abington in District 1 First Round 36-32 (2 OT)

The Conestoga Boys Varsity Basketball season came to an end tonight after a disappointing 36-32 loss to the 23rd seed Abington Galloping Ghosts at home in double overtime. The game was a defensive tilt from the beginning, with the score being just 14-7 at halftime. Conestoga’s shooting kicked in the third quarter, sinking 12 points on quick passes and elbow jumpers. At the end of the 4th quarter, the score was tied 27-27, sending the game into the first OT. Both teams managed to generate just 4 points each as the defensive standoff continued, sending the game into a second OT. In the final minutes, Abington mustered its way past the Pioneers scoring 4 points to Conestoga’s 1 point and took the game 36-32. The Pioneers finished the 2021-2022 season at 16-8 overall, 13-6 in the Central League.
