Mike Troy Steps Down as Conestoga Boys Varsity Head Coach

Conestoga’s Boys Varsity Basketball Coach Mike Troy announced that he was stepping down effectively immediately after leading the Pioneers for 16 years. Conestoga’s Athletic Director, Kevin Pechin, announced a search for a new Varsity Boys Basketball Coach was underway.

During Troy’s tenure as head coach, Conestoga advanced to the district playoffs in 13 of the past 14 seasons.

Prior to arriving at Conestoga in 2006, Troy was head coach at Devon Preparatory School where he won over 100 games. While there his teams made five state playoff appearances with a top eight finish and two top 16 finishes. Mike also guided Devon Prep to a District Title and a SCCL National Division Championship. Before taking the reins as head coach Mike led Devon Prep’s JV team for three years.

Troy achieved a major milestone in December 2018 recording his 300th win as a high school head coach. He also recorded his 200th win at Conestoga. Additionally, he has been invited to coach in the prestigious All Star Labor Classic four times and guided the Suburbs to a victory over the City All Stars twice. He also was asked to coach in the first annual Main Line All Star game.

Active in the community, Mike serves on the advisory board of Flite and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Red and White Ball.

We thank Coach Troy for his many years of service and dedication to the Conestoga Boys Basketball program.
