The Conestoga Boys Varsity and JV Basketball Teams tipped off 2022 with victories at Upper Darby High School in Central League play. The Varsity played first using its quick passing, intense defense, and teamwork to defeat Upper Darby 49-33. Ryan Mackey, Mike Walz, Aidan Carew, and a host of Pioneers helped dominate the game. Carew’s back-to-back three pointers followed by a buzzer beater to end the first half carried strong Stoga momentum into the second have for the dominating victory. The JV also defeated Upper Darby thanks to its intense defense, swing passes to rotate the defense, and play underneath the hoop to earn a 43-35 win. Aden Kim and Landon Ross were solid under the basket making key plays with some good passes from Benner Miller.
