Sam Gibbs and Shane O’Brien came off the bench to combine for 26 points, powering the Conestoga High School boys basketball team to a 53-36 rout of Pennridge in the semifinals of the Allentown Central Catholic Holiday tournament Dec. 27.

The Pioneers jumped out to an early lead and were able to keep building on it as they improved to 5-3 and set up a championship match against the host school at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 28.

Gibbs finished with 14 points, including a trio of three-point shots. O’Brien made four from long range for 12 points. Brendan Styer made his presence felt with 10 points, 5 assists and 2 steals.
