Pioneers Improve to 6-2 on Season
The Conestoga Boys Varsity Basketball Team traveled over to Ridley High School where they showcased a sensational overtime win 63-55.
Conestoga’s starters Ben Robinson, Brendan Styer, Liam Smith, Patrick Corr, and Abe Dembele gave it their all on the court, especially in overtime. Robinson was outstanding from behind the arc while Styer was directing traffic and running the offense. Dembele was phenomenal with finishing at the rim and grabbing boards like his life depended on it.
Conestoga’s bench was a huge factor during the game and during overtime. Brian Schubert immediately became the leader of the court as soon as he subbed in and Westin Fryberger was doing what he does best, shooting at will to increase the lead. Jack Vesey and Landon Ross provided rebounds on both ends of the court especially during crunch time. Peter Costigan was aggressive on the floor, throwing his body around as soon as the ball was free on the ground. Overall, the whole bench was a huge factor to winning this game especially the energy they brought in overtime.
Conestoga increases their record to 6-2 and plan to take on a tough Lower Merion High School at their house on Tuesday, Dec. 20th at 7:00 PM.
