Upper Darby got off to a quick 9-4 run in the first quarter. Truth Ingram stemmed the tide with a deuce off a nice feed from Brooks Rush, and it was 13-9 in favor of the Royals at the end of the first quarter.
Thomas McGovern set the tone for the Pioneers in the second quarter defensively with a block and a steal, and Evan Medley followed his example with a block of his own. A 7-2 run by Stoga including a pair of free throws by Connor Steele closed the gap to 22-20 in favor of UD at the half.
Scott Martin got it going with seven points for Conestoga in the third quarter, and Deacon Mayock joined the block party on D but the Royals led 37-32 after three.
In the fourth quarter Jason Brockman scored inside and out, Wes Brace got a score inside and Shane Scott got a bucket late in the game, but it wasn’t enough, as the Royals prevailed on their senior day, 54-46.
