Conestoga claim a 67-58 victory at Ridley on Saturday, Jan 27th

Conestoga pulled away in the final quarter to claim a 67-58 victory at Ridley Jan. 27 and strengthen its hold on second place in the powerful Central League.

Three Pioneers — Ben Robinson, Sam Gibbs and Cory Hogan — scored 18 points each to lead the way. Robinson added 4 assists and 3 steals while Gibbs connected on 4 shots from beyond the arc and Hogan helped control  the boards with 7 rebounds. Rowan Miller also played a key role coming up with 7’s in points, assists and rebounds as did Brendan Styer with 4 points, 8 assists and 3 steals.

Coach Forcine explained “Ridley is a very physical team.  We had to match or exceed their physicality and in the second half we had tremendous energy on the defensive end.  The amount of times we dove for loose balls, made attitude plays, really propelled us and along with big scoring nights from Cory, Sam, and Ben. We pride ourselves on defense and making those attitude plays which is going to carry us to victory every time.”

Conestoga has a busy schedule this week, with a game at home on January 29th vs Neshaminy at 7:00 PM and at Lower Merion, on Tuesday, January 30th at 7:00 PM. Then followed by 2 straight home games including senior night on Friday, February 2nd at 7:00 PM vs. Upper Darby and Saturday, February 3rd at 2:30 vs Hempfield.
