Conestoga has its 9th Victory with Smothering Defense

Conestoga chalked up its ninth victory in 13 outings by knocking off Central League rival Springfield, 45-34 before a raucous crowd at the Pioneer PIT. Conestoga is 7-2 in the Central League and 9-4 so far this season.

Sophomore Rowan Miller and senior Westin Fryberger did the heavy lifting as they combined for 23 points and 15 rebounds. Miller finished with a dozen points and seven rebounds. Fryberger connected on three shots from beyond the arc and totaled 11 points and 8 rebounds. Coming off the bench, senior Landon Ross had 9 points and 4 rebounds while junior Sam Gibbs chipped in with 6 points.

The Pioneers will return to action at 7 p.m. Jan. 18 when they travel to Harriton High School.
